Live Power and Gas Seminars

A worldwide schedule offers the most comprehensive and cutting-edge content with real-time discussion. Participants can interact with prominent energy experts and network with a cadre of international delegates. Seminars last from one to five days. Courses include the following titles,

  • Overview of the North American electric Power Industry
  • Principles of Power and Gas Trading
  • Introduction to the Electricity Industry (Europe)

Introduction to the Power Industry pivots on an understanding of the extent to which we rely on electricity. This basic course explains the process through which power reaches its users, and the basics of the power industry.

Power Trading in Europe examines the way in which deregulating power markets are changing the nature of power trading around the world, and the extent to which European power markets are adjusting to this evolving structure. Wholesale power trading is changing to a market with many new entrants, a high degree of competition, price volatility and very short-term contracts. This intermediate level course examines power trading in Europe, the different motivations for trading, the fundamentals of the market, the different types of power markets and contracts (including European power exchanges and pools) and further ways in which deregulation is affecting the industry.

The European Power Markets and Infrastructure course focuses on the goal of the European power industry to become a strong, cohesive market under the European Union Electricity Directive. This intermediate-level course presents an in-depth examination of some of the many complex challenges. For example, the way in which transmission capacity between countries affects the development of a coherent power market. Additional areas of focus include the supply picture in Europe and the different types of generation being used, the growth of demand, and demand patterns in individual countries.

Customized On-Sites

Customized on-sites are ideal for organizations that wish to train a team or several individuals without the added expense of travel and absence from work. With proper preparation, contents can be tailored to address challenges and opportunities specific to your business, which remains exclusive and confidential. Any of the live seminars offered can be brought in-house.

Web-Based Power Courses

Web-based courses are a self-paced alternative for busy professionals. They are a convenient means of e-learning anytime and anywhere. The Oxford Princeton Programme has created "road maps" for those who seek expert status in a specified field. These competency paths offer a series of courses that can be taken over a flexible time horizon.

Web-based power courses are comprehensive and cost effective. Choose from several subjects, each complete with interactive exercises, quizzes and a comprehensive test prior to completion. Power courses include:

  • Introduction to the Power Industry
  • Power Trading in Europe
  • European Power Markets and Infrastructure

The Oxford Princeton Programme works with individuals and corporations in the development of competency paths for new hires, through to seasoned energy professionals.
